Hello, and welcome to New York Liberty basketball recapping while-u-wait. Tonight's game features a:
Recap not available in your area.
Searching for recaps on other web sites...
Recap found. Would you like you change the channel to the official WNBA website?
Or would you like to stay here and join me in complaining that this game was blacked out for no good reason yesterday?
Worse, the MSG Network has a show called "The Liberty in 60" that condenses the game down to one hour. That was blacked out too.
Hey Donna Orender: When you're done breaking your arm patting yourself on the back about the 2008 season, maybe 2009's "area of improvement" is visibility in out-of-market areas? It's hard to develop a national fan base when the nation is only able to see the Mercury/Monarchs game.
Note: I am aware that the game was streamed on the WNBA site, but that doesn't help me when I'm not home to sit in front of the monitor and watch a pixelly webcast. For practical intents and purposes, for me, it was blacked out. DirecTV told me so.
I missed Katie Feenstra tie for 2nd in scoring for Atlanta in this game, the return of Megan Duffy, and the Loree Moore/Leilani Mitchell combination delivering 8 points between them. Essence Carson has me worried. 1 point in 16 minutes. So I hear, anyway.
Well, I'm glad NY is going to the playoffs, because in theory those games won't be blacked out. Atlanta is a better team than their record suggests, but I'm not seeing where their 4th victory is going to come from. Watch out for flying babies and bathwater down there in Atlanta any time after September 14.
Next: New York returns home to face Chicago tomorrow (September 7), while Atlanta crawls home to face Indiana on Monday. Check your local listings - or not, because both games appear to be - wait for it - blacked out. <EM>

Well, I blogged about it and Rebecca at Game Notes of Doooooom have both blogged out it. We'll tell you all about it!
The fact that MSG blacked out their "Liberty in 60" show sucks. There used to be a show on CSS called "Braves in a Hurry", which was the most recent Atlanta Braves game cut down to 30 minutes. I liked that show.
